WILL THE EVENT BE RECORDED?
We don't plan to make any video because we don't have enough money. If you're interested in recording please send us an email with your request barelitinfo@gmail.com

IS THIS FESTIVAL GOING TO BE ALL HIGH-BROW AND LITERARY?
We're a festival celebrating all kinds of writing - from writing for stage and screen to poetry and journalism. We don't take ourselves too seriously and everything is open, accessible and carried out with a generous pinch of fun.

I'M NOT SURE. SHOULD I JUST COME NEXT YEAR?
We make every year different and new. We don't cover old ground and we don't tend to have the same artists year on year. In short, if you miss it this year, you will miss out!

IS BARE LIT OPEN TO CHILDREN?
Yes! We’re really excited to have a dedicated children’s section this year, Lit Kids. We’ll announce more info on our programme page soon.

THIS LOOKS GREAT, CAN I HELP OUT?
We could always do with reliable volunteers. If you can commit your time then send us en email barelitinfo@gmail.com

DO I HAVE TO BE A WRITER TO ATTEND?
Not at all! You don't have to be a writer or publisher, this isn't an industry-only event.

CAN BARE LIT HELP WITH MY CAREER? I'M A WRITER/POET/PUBLISHER OF COLOUR.
For sure! There's loads of people at Bare Lit eager to meet with you and connect. Plus we have specific workshops and sessions to help you.

WHY DO WE NEED A FESTIVAL FOR WRITERS OF COLOUR? DOESN’T THIS DEFEAT THE POINT OF EVERYONE BEING EQUAL?
This report by Spread the Word has some great info about the work that needs to be done to deal with the systemic and ongoing exclusion of BAME people from the publishing industry.

WHO IS A PERSON OF COLOUR?
People who identify as 'of colour' include people with heritages from Asia, Africa, the Middle East, South America, indigenous groups and Roma people.

WHO FUNDS BARE LIT?
Bare Lit is independent and we’re not part of any other organisations, brands or companies.
